Auto Crop adjusts the skew of the document on the scanner glass, but if your document is skewed more than 10 degrees, the setting will not work. If your document is too long or wide, Auto Crop will not work properly. This setting is only available for documents that are rectangular or square. The ADF will not work with the Auto Crop setting. As an example, if you load 3 photos on the flatbed glass and scan using the Auto Crop setting enabled within the ControlCenter software, you will have 3 separate files (JPG) instead of having to scan 3 photos manually. This option is most helpful if you need to scan multiple documents such as multiple photos loaded on the flatbed glass. When using Auto Crop, the machine will scan each document and create separate files.

See Previewing and Adjusting the Scan Area for instructions.You can scan multiple documents placed on the scanner glass by enabling the Auto Crop feature. Use full-size preview (if available) and create marquees on the areas you want to scan. See Selecting Basic Settings for instructions. Make sure the Document Type setting (Home Mode) or Document Type and Film Type settings (Professional Mode) are set correctly for your film/slide type. See Removing the Document Mat for instructions.

Make sure the document mat is removed when you scan film. In the Configuration window, adjust the thumbnail cropping area using the Thumbnail Cropping Area slider. You Cannot Scan Using the Thumbnail Preview To change the scanning mode, see Changing the Scan Mode.

Try scanning in Home or Professional Mode instead. See Placing Documents or Photos for instructions. Make sure the document is placed on the scannerвЂ™s document table correctly. To change the scan mode, see Changing the Scan Mode. If the problem persists, try scanning in Home or Professional Mode.

If the areas are obscured, the scanner may have trouble recognizing your film or slides in Full Auto Mode. Make sure the white stickers on the back of the film holder and the areas around them are not scratched, dusty, or covered in any way. See Placing Film or Slides for instructions. Make sure the film is placed in the film holder correctly and the film holder is properly positioned on the document table. Try one or more of the following solutions. Panorama and regular size images being scanned at the same time. To scan other types of film, use Home or Professional Mode. In Full Auto Mode, you can scan only 35 mm color film strips or slides. This may happen if your images are like the following:Д¬olor negative film with extremely light or dark base color (background). Delete your scanner from the list of installed devices and reinstall Epson Scan following the instructions in your Start Here sheet.Д®pson Scan may not be able to detect images, or may crop or group the images unexpectedly. Delete your scannerвЂ™s icon and reinstall Epson Scan by following the instructions in your Start Here sheet.Дouble-click the Scanners and Cameras icon in Control Panel. Do one of the following:Дouble-click the Scanners and Cameras icon in Control Panel. With Windows, check whether your scanner appears more than once in the Scanners and Cameras utility. See your software and computer documentation for details. Make sure your computer has enough memory and meets the other system requirements for the software you are using. The Scanner Software Does Not Work Properly Then reinstall it by following the instructions in your Start Here sheet.

If the scanner appears with one of these marks or as an Unknown device, uninstall Epson Scan as described in Uninstalling Epson Scan.

In the Windows Device Manager, make sure your scannerвЂ™s name appears under Imaging devices without a question ( ?) or an exclamation ( !) mark. See Starting a Scan With Another Scanning Program (scanning documents or photos) or Starting a Scan With Another Scanning Program (scanning film or slides). Make sure that Epson Scan is selected in your scanning program. See Uninstalling Your Scanning Software for instructions on uninstalling and reinstalling it.

EPSON SCANNING SOFTWARE AUTO CROP UPGRADE

The scanner may not work properly if you upgrade your operating system but do not reinstall Epson Scan. Restart Epson Scan and try scanning again.

The scanner may not work properly if Epson Scan is open and your computer goes into standby mode (Windows) or sleep mode (Mac OSВ X). Turn off your computer and unplug the scanner, then check the USB cable connection between them to make sure it is secure. Make sure the scanner is plugged in to turn it on.
